I am trying to figure out how the distributer ignition shielding fits on the distributor on my 55. It was not with the care when I acqured it. Is there somehwere that this is documented?
It looks like the bottom ring goes under the lip of the distributor cap.
It looks like the body goes over the distributor cap, but are the clips from the distributor body supposed to fit over the tabs on this? If so, are there longer clips. The ones I have barely fit over the distributor cap without the shield in place.
Further, there are four screw holes in the top inside of the body. In Adams restoration guid, a picture is shown with screws in the holes, but there is not further information. What purpose do the serve? Is there another part that they hold on?
Insofar as the top is concerned, I was able to fit the handle and the roller into place. Is this all that holds the cover on?
Thanks for your help.
