Re: 71 t-top
Chuck, I believe he is talking about the windshield molding stainless and the windshield header chrome. The ones that I have taken apart appear to have a sealer similar/identical to 3M Strip Caulk. At least that is what we have used when we reassembled them.Dick Whittington- Top

Re: 71 t-top
If that's the question, I agree. The front portion of the cavity in the top of the windshield frame under the T-top support reveal molding was filled with a gray putty-like sealant like Strip-Kalk, backed up by a black 1/2" X 1/2" foam rubber seal.
The upper windshield reveal molding is not sealed to the T-top support reveal molding...the upper windshield reveal molding simply rides on clips screwed to the front of the windshield frame with no sealant. The leak path would be behind the reveal molding, down the windshield frame, and finally onto the windshield adhesive; sealing not required.- Top
