Depends upon how you drive, but 10-15 mpg is probably a reasonable range.

            32 mpg from a fuelie…

Bet that got your attention! This figure was the winning mileage acheived by a fuel-injected Corvette many years ago at a road rally in Ohio. Very high tire pressure, and no doubt a lotta coasting were involved. Well-tuned fuelies did get surprisingly good mileage, though.

              8 to 18

              1969 302 Z/28 3:90 = 8 MPG on Sunoco 260 @ .38 per gallon
              1971 C3 Base SB with A/C , 4 spd = 18 MPG

1962 327-340, 4.11 rear end. ~11 mpg in stop/start cruising mode, never over 65 mph (shifter rattles!).

                  Re: 8 to 18

I have a '65 fuel injected coupe with a 3.36 rear that returned a little over 21mpg at a steady 75mph cruising speed. That was on a caravan trip to the Museum a few years ago. An interesting side note was that a '96 LT4 was cruising with me and in 4th gear (1:1 and a 3.33 or 3.36 gear) its instant mpg, according to its computer, was also 21 mpg. That made me think that most of the advances in fuel economy were really due to the transmissions. Of course it was probably running a LOT cleaner than the '65, but I thought it was interesting none the less.

                    28.75 cents per mile

Assuming a 4 to 1 ratio of higher octane racing fuel ($4.00 a gallon) to premium unleaded, ($2.50 a gallon) to fill up the tank for your SHP high compression engine, your cost per mile at 10mpg is 28.75 cents. Still what I would call cheap fun!
