If they do, they use a coding system that's never been deciphered.

I believe most big block hoods were made either on April 27th, or April 54th depending on the year.

April 54th must have been a long time ago like BC maybe! Calendars were different then.

If I'm not mistaken your asking about the 427 or 454 or L82 emblems on the hood, because either your setting these guy's up or their just playing with you. I hope that was the question you were asking.

Guys, I listed all the numbers I found on the inner side of my 427 hoods. These are located near the rear portion of the hood, and slightly towards the right (passenger side). The mumbers I found were: 48262 (these are apx. 7/16" tall. The next numbers are 0193 9 01 11 12357 (these are apx.3/16" tall). All of these numbers were part of the mold so they are raised. g.
