1967 Rally Wheel Paint - Inner Surface

I'm sorry - I'm sure this has already been covered but I'm lousy at using the archives and need advice specifically on 67 rally wheels.

I am in the process of refinishing the spare rally wheel. The wheel is currently silver on both front and back and I don't think that right. I thought that in order to be factory correct, the spare wheel should be semi-gloss black on the inner surface and silver only on the front. Also, assuming I'm right so far, did the factory mask off the slots or would there be some silver overspray present on the back side of the slots. Since the front and back of the spare are easy to inspect, I want to make sure and get it correct. Help is appreciated.

In 1967 the back of the rally wheels were painted with a flat black to semi flat black type of paint. Then the front was painted with argent silver. No attempt was made to cover the slots so silver overspray should be present on the black lacquer on the back surface. Over the counter replacement wheels where not painted like this. More care was taken with them. Hope this helps.

This is an untouched original '69 Camaro wheel, but it's the same wheel, factory-painted with the same process as Corvette rally wheels; dip-primed semi-gloss black, sprayed argent silver on the face, with some foggy silver overspray through the slots on the back side.
