those rods shown are for free floating pins

so you will need pistons that are set up for pin locks.

Re: those rods shown are for free floating pins

One thing to keep in mind if using the SCAT rods is that they are a bit heavier than the stock weighted OEM rods. I used a set of SCAT rods in my 327 rebuild. The crankshaft, rods, pistons, etc. were balanced at the machine shop. Weight had to be ADDED back onto the crankshaft in order to bring everything back up to snuff. This was done by MIG welding plugs of metal back into the original factory drilled holes in the crankshaft.

One thing aboout the SCAT rods.......They are BEEFY .. ! .. BTW, SCAT rods can also be had in the press fit version/small journal size. That's the version I used in my rebuild ..

        Factory did some ugly restamps!

Heck, they just used a die grinder to remove the few digits they didn't like and added the correct ones over top, or just used a big "XXX". Maybe all the pad "restorers" should do that too as nobody would ever suspect it's a fake as "nobody would be THAT stupid."

        Makes you wonder!
