Ty, I had similar wheel problem. I used a hacksaw to cut away plastic approx. half inch either side of spoke position on wheel, set cog in place then weld both sides. Be careful to cool weld as you go. then bondo and paint/cover...this should get you by.

The wheel is easy to weld, but I suggest that you do not fill with bondo. It has a tendency to crack. You can get a 2 part epoxy , I think it is 3m, but it may be from Dupont, that is really strong. It is excellent for restoring steering wheels.

A tip of the hat boys, for your input. I'll be welding(and cruising before I thought I would, thanks to you). Plus the good thing about a wheel beyond repair is that I can't bugger anything up.

I am not sure I would purchase anything for a 58 from him. He knows nothing about 58 Corvettes
