Does anyone have the current paint code for 1965 Milano Maroon for Dupont or PPG in BC/CC. I may have to have the paint supplier do the photo trick to get a good match. I had both Dupont and PPG mix up a tiny bit to test for match. PPG is closer but still wrong. This car has been painted before but the windshield frame appears to have some factory applied paint where the original windshield was. Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks

Re: Current paint codes
There's a red herring here... Factory original cars were NOT two-step, BC/CC painted. You can get the original blend code for your car from www.autocolorlibrary.com, but that's NOT going to guarantee an exact match for touch-up purposes because the existing paint will have some level of sun fade and you can expect very minor differences from blend run to blend run.
This is where you have to find a skilled painter to work with. Plus, the best resource you can equip him with to do the touch-up job is a quantity of residual paint from the last time the car was painted. Absent that, the painter will have to do a 'best efforts' job using the factory original blend code and a colorimeter analysis from a small part of the car that can be easily detached and hand carried to the paint distributor for spectral analysis (like the rear valence panel).- Top

Touch base with "BarryK" (posts on CF and CAC) - he just went through exactly the same thing; took seven weeks working with PPG to finally get a successful match to the original '65 Milano Maroon. His experience can probably save you some time and frustration.- Top
