My clutch pedal fell off and sheered the large pin that holds the clutch and brake pedal. The pin looked like it was machined onto the clutch pedal. I have found a whole replacement pedal at Paragon. Is this the only way to fix this or can you replace the large pin that holds the pedal?

The shaft was not "machined onto" the pedal arm. It was attached by some sort of welding process. A a seperate piece, the shafts were never available from GM, were never available in the aftermarket, and are not available in reproduction. So, even if it were possible to attach one, it wouldn't be possible to obtain the part. That pretty much makes the whole issue of repair moot.
I might also add, here, that I would not even attempt to repair this item. The reason that the pedal is serviced now and always as an ASSEMBLY is that repair is not practical or effective. Just be thankful that reproductions are available.
Besides all that, replacing one of these pedals represents a considerable amount of work. Would you want to go to the trouble of "repairing" the pedal, re-install the "repaired" pedal, and then find out that it doesn't perform properly for one reason or another? Thanks for the help and my thoughts were to just replace the whole set up I just found it odd that you could break that shaft off. I guess if it moves it can break. Thanks again for looking and offering your advise. It really helps to be able to get others help.Comment
