Our 57 is a heater delete car. I gather from the NCRS judging manual that there should be 3 non-functional knobs in place of the heater control knobs on the dash. Our car has a cigarette lighter to the right of the radio, and a finger size hole to the left. From behind the dash, it does not appear that there have been any holes covered up. What gives? Is this original, or is it an old replacement that came without any holes?

Re: 57 Dash
Ken:
I have a '57 heater delete Corvette. I doubt if your dash is a replacement. The previous owner may have done something to the dash. The three holes on my dash where the dummy knobs go are very small, just large enough to allow the knob to be attached.- Top

Re: 57 Dash
Ken:
The knob on the right of the radio is 2.5 inches to the right of the center of the lighter.
The two knobs on the left of the radio are again 2.5 inches to the left of the center of the radio knob and another 2.5 inches to the left of the center of the dummy knob. As to the back plates, I assume you are referring to the trim plates between the knob and the dash surface. I would think they should be available from one of the catalog houses.
Hope this helps.- Top
