I just removed my '68 power steering control valve. Can someone confirm if it is the original part by the following numbers. On the adjusting side is a cast no. "32". Also a stamped series of number reads "07368". The first two numbers are very difficult to make out. I'm sure about the 368 portion. On the relay rod end three cast series are present. "5685459", "E20", & "2713" My car had final assmebly March 20th '68.

Re: 68 steering control valve
Chris,
I am not familiar with the casting numbers for power steering, but in the area of steering linkage, and some other areas, the part numbers given in the Assembly Instruction Manual are often not helpful.
Some parts were supplied to St. Louis as assemblies and the part number for these assemblies is not useful as there is no equivalent service part number, nor is there, to my knowledge, a listing of what these assemblies consisted of.
Parts supplied to the plant as assemblies include, but are not limited to: Front suspension, Steering linkage, Engine, Transmission (In some, perhaps most years, a metal tag is bolted to the manual transmission cover with the assembly number stamped on it), Differential and Trailing arms.
Sorry there is not better news. Unless others on this board have more N40 information I would believe the date.
