Re: '67 sidepipes,yes/no
you have a top flight. if your intent is to persue the Duntov, don't add the side pipes as it'll be costly point wise. also will negate the use of the radio. sounds cool but music not as boring after a couple hundred mile trip.even with the widows up and the c-60 cranking out cool air, you'll still hear the pipes in the cockpit. your call though. mike- Top

Re: '67 sidepipes,yes/no
I had a '67, 400HP coupe with side pipes. They were factory, GM pipes and were still too loud to enjoy driving the car for more than 20 minutes. I understand the repros are even louder. You'll miss being able to put the window down without the loudness. Personally, I think the car has just the right amount of noise with undercar exhausts. If you install the sidepipes correctly, as the factory did, in every way, you really won't be able to put the car back to its' original condition without evidence of having done so.- Top

You will have to cut away some of the bodywork from the lower part of the front fenders, just aft of the wheel wells. This to obtain clearance for the exit of the pipes from the underside of the car. It is usually not necessary to cut away anything at the rear, like the factory did.- Top

Re: '67 sidepipes,yes/no
Chris,
Our 67 L-79 conv. has factory side exhaust and I would't want it any other way. I like the looks and the sound and I don't have the car judged so I'm not concerned about the point deduct. If I owned your car I would not change it. The noise level in a coupe is worse than a conv. and I couldn't justify altering a high level car.
