    76 Carb Question

I broke out my car for the first time this year, and I noticed when I came home and was cleaning the carb, that the rear 2 barrels choke/butterfly were not open. The front two were. This is only the third time I have driven this car, and want to know if this is normal (the car seems to run fine) or if some thing is wrong. It ia a 1976 L-82 all stock w/ AC. Any insight would be appreciated.

    Re: 76 Carb Question

    Christopher,

You probably have a Quadrajet carb. If so, what you see is normal. The secondary barrels (back two) are vaccumn operated and don't open until your engine rpm requires a fuel above what the primary's can provide.
