    C2 MASTER CYL R/B & HOOD LATCH

    JUST BOUGHT A "RESTORED" '63 COUP. WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE BEST PLACE TO SEND THE ORIGINAL TYPE SCREW TOP MASTER CYL FOR OVERHAUL. ALSO I AM HAVING TROUBLE ADJUSTING THE HOOD LATCHES. THE ONE ON THE LEFT SIDE LATCHES WELL BUT CANNOT GET THE RH ONE TO STAY LATCHED. HAD A CHEV DEALER AND ANOTHER SHOP BESIDES MYSELF TRY WITH NO SUCCESS. LATCHES LOOK GOOD. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

    Bill-----

    White Post Restorations (www.whitepost.com) or Apple Hydraulics (www.applehydraulics.com) will do you a fine job of sleeving and restoring your master cylinder. I recommend brass sleeving for master cylinders and I think that both White Post and Apple do, too.

    As far as the hood latches go, I'd say that the problem lies in one of 2 areas.

    1) Improper adjustment of the latch or actuating cable;

    2) Wear on the upper catch or lower bolt. It doesn't take too much wear to cause the symptomology that you describe.
