    bellhousing paint

I believe I saw a thread on this before, but I can't seem to access the archives so I will ask again. I have a 64 with a 327 - How much of the bellhousing should be painted?

    Re: bellhousing paint

the bellhousing was painted on the engine with the flywheel shields in place, so the the least, the area of the bellhousing adjacent to the block, and all attaching hardware should be painted. As you proceed toward the transmission mounting face, the coverage varied with the energy level of the painter. The only constant is that there won't be a defined "edge" between paint and unpainted, as it was not masked.
