The A can't stand for Automatic on my engine. I have a 350/350 with a 4 spd. The 350Hp did not come with a Auto. I am sure that the car was an original 350Hp becouse I pulled the tank and it is listed on the build sheet.

Greg where i read an article in a car magazine long time ago that mentioned what the "A" was for. My CE engine has a bushing in the crank for a manual transmission also. Perhaps someday someone will post what the "A" really means in the CEOA stamping.

It would be nice to know. It has been a concern of mine since everyone talks about CE and no one ever mentions any letters after the CE. I went back to the original dealer in hopes of some old records, but they could not find any. I purchased the car from the second owner and he told me that there was a problem when the car was new and the engine was replaced. It is too bad that a factory replacement does not count for a numbers matching car.
