1962 long fuel line

Need to know any tricks to replacing the long fuel line (My new line is cracked at the flare). I originally put it on with the body off but now it will obviously be much more difficult. Any hints are appreciated.

John, It can be done...

...last one I did installed back to front. I believe the front splash pan will be your biggest enemy, but not necessary to remove. A helper could help in guiding the line along, but again, not necessary. Put tape over the line openings to keep any stray crud out. Good luck, Dennis

I did this last year. The splash pan was off. I was also told that the line could be installed in 1 piece. May take a little bending. But I couldn't figure out how to do that. I didn't try very hard though.

I ended up cutting the line in the middle. That was OK because I wanted to install a super-secret-anti-theft shut-off valve there.

Yes, I admit some tweaking of the line...

...will be required, but it is do-able in a single piece with no cutting and the splash pan does not need to be removed, though I can appreciate that would simplify the process. Patience and determination may be the key to this like so many other like projects... You've just gotta decide you're gonna be be smarter than a 3/8" fuel line.
