Re: F41 shocks on eBay
Bill----
You can identify them by the part numbers stamped on them. The seller has provided the part number in the heading of the item. This is the correct part number for the fronts for 1963 to about 1969 or 1970. This is the number you're looking for.
The set of rears that he also has for auction are the 69 to about 1973 style. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: F41 shocks on eBay
lyndon-----
These shocks, apparently, also have Delco parts system numbers on them as well as the GM numbers. Original PRODUCTION shocks did not have this---they had only the GM "long number" and NOT the hyphenated Delco "short number. This fact and the fact that they are red would indicate that they were originally Delco-parts system replacement shocks. These shocks used to be painted red out-of-the-box. While they have old dates (1968), that likely just means that they were Delco replacements manufactured in 1968. Since these shocks were available since 1963, that's very possible. PRODUCTION shocks and SERVICE shocks available through the GM parts system would have been painted black or gray. For 1968, they would have been gray.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Correction
I was incorrect. These shocks do not have the hyphenated Delco parts system numbers on them. No matter, though. The red color still likely indicates that they were originally Delco parts system SERVICE shocks. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
