'64 Horns Position & Speedo Cable Paint

I shall appreciate help with a couple of items for a late build '64.

1. I am dealing with new "as original" horns. TMJG states that in '64 each horm is to point to the middle of the car. Should the plane created by the end of the horn opening be parallel to the car center line? Each of my horns mount horizontal (correct) and point generally toward the middle of the car but are not parallel with car center line by say 20 - 30 degrees (rotated forward around a vertical axis).

2. Should the speedo cable be painted black (engine compartment black out) from where it exits firewall? Cable cover material is white (vinyl?) in the area under dash and is currently a mixture of white vinyl and black paint in the engine compartment.

The illustration in section 12 of the Assembly Manual is an excellent representation of the position of the horns; the mounting strap on the horns, although "bent" near the attachment end to lean the horns forward from the radiator support surface, is not "twisted" at all, so the horns shouldn't be "rotated".

The speedo cable shouldn't have any blackout paint on it, as it wasn't in place in the Paint Shop during the blackout operation; the cable originally had a black vinyl sheath.

I need to do better research - I'm advised by those more knowledgeable about the nuances of 64's than I am that a cream-colored speedo cable sheath was used for at least part of the '64 model year, so your cable may well be original.
