    C1 Seat belts

I have a question about the correct colour (red)for seat belt material in my 61.
Can some one describe the correct shade of red to be used, orangish red or burgundy?? Most of the reproduction stuff I have come across seem burgundy

Any suggestions for suppliers of correct colour and webbing 4 or 6 band. Have original buckle and claspe need material only.
    Thanks, Peter

    Re: C1 Seat belts

Do a search on Carpenter and look for his info on seatbelts. I cannot get the archives to work for me but he was in the same fix and had samples of reds and got answers to the same questions.

        Re: C1 Seat belts

I got into the archives and I see that Clare actually ended up washing his belts and using them. Changed the color from a darker red to a more orange red. I assume since they are nylon that the washing did not change the color, just got them clean.

            '62 Seatbelt links

Actually it was Rob Edwards who made the intial posts and provided the excellent pictures on the seatbelt subject. Here are a couple of links to those threads. Hopefully they'll work. You'll find good commentary of the differences between repro webbing and original, plus color examples.

Rob's car is a Roman red '62 with red interior, as is mine and also Chris's car.
