Any thoughts on what might be causing this: There seems to be quite a bit of horizontal slack in the movement of the ignition cylinder. The cylinder is not original for a '74 since it has an "A" keyway. With the key either in or out and with ignition turned in any one of its positions, if I pull the cylinder outward, the buzzer sounds, however it does shut down when the door is closed. Anyone ever run into similar symptoms?

The movement in the lock cylinder is probably causing the problem. Check the switch and the plastic lever on the lock cylinder. If installed wrong the lever can be broken. Details are in the 73 service manual. Closing the door to shut it off is normal.

Re: Ignition Key Buzzer
Lyle,
Thanks...I'll read up on it again in the Service Manual. Also, I had to play with it a little, but I was finally able to get the cylinder to turn backwards to the accessory position. Once there everything worked, but for the longest time I had written off the accessory position. I guess this too is probably related to the switch and the plastic lever?
