C1 Rear Reflectors

Bubby filled the holes that should occupy the rear reflectors on my '59. Could someone please give me a measurement (how far up from the bumper, and/or how far down from the tail light bezel) so I can properly locate the repo's that I bought for it? Thanks in advance!

On my '58, the measurement is exactly 5 1/4" from the rear of the tail light assembly to the top of the chrome bezel. Measure from the top of the bezel to the threaded shaft on the reflector, add, and you should have it. I doubt Bubba fixed the inside of the fender where the hole was, so this also might give you a clue. You may wish to wait for a confirmation of this before drilling the holes.

Thanks for taking the time to do this for me. Bubba did a pretty good job on the inside of hiding the holes. I looked and looked, and even asked the list if it was possible that the car came without reflectors. I was told no, so if no one else gives a different measurement, I'll drill and put them exactly where you told me to! Thanks again!

Sorry about the mis-spell of your first name in my reply. I purchased my '58 in 1981. The car had been hit in the right rear fender and repaired. I measured both the left and right, and both reflector bezels are 5 1/4" as I mentioned. Mark the spot for the hole and place your bezel in the correct location and if you're satisfied with the fit of the bezel, it's your call. Good luck!

Measured mine this morning but from different points than David did. Mine are 4 and 5/8 from the bottom point of the taillight bezel and 1 and 3/4 inch up from the point in the bumper. Mine is a 1960 and I don't think the rear has been tampered with but no certainties there. Adding the width of the chrome around the tail light, David's and my dimensions are probably pretty close. Sorry for the quality of the pic. PowerPoint conversion to jpg messes them up a bit. I glanced through the AIM for the 1960 (Sect. 12, Sheet 3.00)but didn't find any placement info for the reflectors.

I had a response to my last post regarding the reflector placement. It's different than what I told you. I don't know if you saw the post so I'm giving you a heads up. My measurement and the newly posted measurement is about 1/2 inch different at the top and 1/4 different at the bottom. My bottom measurement is 2"
