Like some help....looking from the right side of the car at the black ac fuel filter on a '65 396/425hp motor, the left parts right after the filter, looks like (from pictures) there is a short nut and then a long retangular nut going under the air cleaner.....where do you get these two nuts for the correct installation?
The GF-416 fuel filter threads directly into a junction block that splits filtered fuel in two directions (rear fuel bowl and front fuel bowl) to the carb. The 'nuts' are captive to the fuel line segments serving each of the fuel bowls.
Most catalogs, like Paragon, package the whole smash (junction block + front & rear bowl fuel line). Some, like Dr Rebuild allow you to pick and choose (from the fuel pump all the way up, just the junction block, just the three fuel line components). But, I don't recollect seeing each of the three distinct fuel lines (pump to filter, junction block to front bowl, junction block to rear bowl) being listed separately....
It's always been Paragon's policy to 'break' a kit to sell individual pieces if you only need, say, the junction block to front carb bowl fuel line component. Just ask the order desk for a 'special' item. Don't know, Dr. Rebuild just may do the same thing....
Marc -- as Jack says, there are only 2 components (the L78 filter threads directly into the T junction block). Not sure what picture you're looking at, but make sure that it's not for one of the GF-90 (327) filters modified to GF-416 configuration with an additional fitting (adaptor), at filter inlet and outlet, to accomodate the longer overall length of the 396 filter and the larger 1/4"-18 thread to the smaller dia. fine-thread of the 327 unit. The filter body outside dimensions are the same as the 327 filter, but the hex in/out fittings (integral to the filters) are 1/2" long for the small block, and 7/8" long on the BB filter.
Real GF-416's are exceeding $400. on eBay recently; hence the temptation to offer the modified unit.
