Can someone help me decipher some numbers on a Holley carb? This carb is supposedly from a '67 coupe 327/300 hp car. On the front of the carb it reads:
3906631-DA
LIST - 3810
3110
I think the top number is the Chevy no.
The second number, I think, is the Mrg no.
I'm not sure what the last number is...
Re: C2 Holley carb: help needed to decipher some n
the quad alpha-numeric date code takes it out of the midyear realm, ie, its a post midyear service replacement. if it's manufacture birthdate were 2nd week of fed, 1967, the stamped date code would read 722(tri alpha-numeric date). mike
Re: C2 Holley carb: help needed to decipher some n
Tony,
The first two lines are correct for a 67 small block, the third line is the date code. A 4 digit code indicates a replacement after 1972 model year (although there are differing opinions on this). The first three digits are the day of the year, and the fourth the year. 0 could be 1980 or 1990. If it has hex fuel bowl screws and phillips choke and throttle plate screws, it is probably the latter year. If it has slotted fuel bowl or choke/throttle plate screws, it is probably the earlier year.
