    Vette Bond???

    Hello all,

Currently getting the body work done on my 69 in a resto shop . This shop is a distance away so i dont visit that often and i get billed weekly through the mail. In this weeks bill it states "apply vette bond over rear quarter seams" in the description of work done. Is vette bond like body filler/plastic? or is it a seam strengthener? what is everyone 's opinion on this stuff? thanks in advance.

    Re: Vette Bond???

Hi Kenny. No real expert here, but Vette Bond is a "body putty like" bonding material used to "glue" quarter panels, etc. to the bonding strips. I remember that it's hard as a stone, and I believe, uses the liquid MEK Peroxide as a hardener, not the toothpaste like hardener material used in body fillers. Hope this helps. Chuck
