From a review of the archive threads, it looks like the 1967 big blocks, both with and without C60 air conditioning, used the same 17 1/2" five-blade fan ("W" on the water pump side of spider, with "Front," "H" and ""66" on the radiator side). I recently heard that a 17" seven-blade fan (part number 3955182/ identified 914166) was used on cars delivered to warmer districts such as Texas. Does anyone have more information on this optional application?

Re: Optional C2 Big Block AC Fan Blades
Joe-----
I can tell you with absolute certainty that the GM #3955182 fan blade was NEVER originally used on a 1967 Corvette delivered ANYWHERE. The GM #3955182 fan blade assembly didn't even exist when the 1967 Corvettes were being built. It was released in very late 1968 and first used on some 1969 model Corvettes with A/C.
Eventually, the GM #3955182 replaced, for SERVICE, the GM #3888366 used for 66-67 big blocks as well as most 68-70 Corvettes. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Optional C2 Big Block AC Fan Blades
Joe S - Joe L is spot on with this as ususal. Stories abound about other fan blade assemblies being supplied from the factory on '66 and '67 BIG BLOCKs w/ C60 in the warmer climates; but so far to the best of my knowledge no one has come up with the "proof statement." I can tell you that a lot of fan blade assemblies got changed in attempts and in some cases successfully to eliminate overheating problems w/ C60 BIG BLOCKs and also C60 small blocks in the south. Bottomline from what I can tell is so far they are good stories and generally as Joe L pointed out the fan blade assembly installed is a later SERVICE fan blade assembly manufactured sometime after the 1966 or 1967 production year.
