    57 Distributor

I replaced the cam in my 57 2x4 and would like to know what is the proper position for the distributor oil fill tube. Also, which tower on the cap should be "1 cylinder?

    Re: 57 Distributor

    Mike -

Distributor orientation is shown in the '57 Assembly Manual in Section 12, Sheet 10; with a line through the cap clips perpendicular to the axis of the engine, if you were looking down on the back of the distributor from the cowl, the #1 wire is in the one o'clock position, just clockwise from the engine centerline.
