I kinda figured that from the context in which it was used. It wasn't in the American Heritage nor Webster's online. I like the word though and will use it myself when apropos. I knew posing the question here would get a few humorous responses. ;-)

AFC.....to be fair

I got several parts from Mike, and was impressed with the condition of the used pieces, and the price was very fair. My impression is that he suffers from not enough help in dealing with the volume of parts he has and the demand for his business.

My interaction with Crane encompasses all of the above. He used my NOS 62 FI air cleaner as the model for his reproduction, and I couldn't tell the difference between the two.High quality work. Irritating. Lacking in people skills. Generally honest. Arrogant. Hard worker. Knowledgeable. I know also that he raised air cleaner prices in the last year--didn't need to, but just said "I've been selling these too cheap." Take the above for what it's worth.

I whole heartedly agree with Tracy. As far as I am concerned, Jerry is the "go to" guy for Fuel Injection issues. He has been enormously helpful with my 59 fuelie. As long as there are guys like him who are knowledgeable, helpful, reasonable, and trustworthy (barnular or not) there is no reason to deal with the other negative characters out there. If he does not have what you need, he will know where to get it or send you. I also get a kick out of his sense of humor. - Kevin

David is not lacking in people skills when it comes to "Hollywood". With respect to "Hollywood", he must be a "real charmer". So, the people skills are "in him". Apparently, they just don't "come out" unless you're a member of the "softer, gentler sex".
