    1965 C2 Heater Hose Clamps

Need a clarification from the 1965 judging manual. Page 116 in Mechanical section under Heater Hose & Clamps, first paraagraph, next to last line says:
5/8/3/4" Corbin Clamps with exception of the 'T' short hose coming from expansion tank. It says to use screw type clamps.

My 65 Convertible which is pretty original has the Corbin clamps on this short hose. on at tank and one at 'T'. I was wondering is the Corbin clamp correct as it is used elsewhere on the heater hoses or is the screw type clamp correct?

    Thanks in advance for advice
    Chuck

    Chuck,

I would have to say that the screw clamps are more correct, but this doesn't mean some barely literate line worker didn't apply corbin clamps to your "T" junction also. My expansion tank was thrown behind my seats in a pile of parts when I bought my 67 coupe. The upper, overflow line from radiator was still attached to tank. Here's a photo of original rubber line with Wittek clamp, I'd get some screw-type like you mentioned, ditch the corbin ones.

      Chuck -

The side-screw clamps are correct for that short hose from the tank outlet to the "tee"; all other heater hose clamps are the Corbin type (see Section 11/13, Sheet A4, item #5 in the Assembly Manual).
