    C2 motor mount bolts

On the passenger side, the fuel pump prevents installing the bolt from the front; and when installed from the rear, the end of the bolt almost touches the fuel pump. Removing and reinstalling the pump is not a problem, but for future reference I was just wondering if the accepted procedure is to install the fuel pump after installing the motor mount bolts.

    SMALL OR BIG BLOCK?

    Steve,

I had no interference with my '67 big block, with the original pump installed.

        Re: SMALL BLOCK

        Steve,

I looked at my '66 small block. The engine has never been removed and the bolt is inserted from the rear and the end of the bolt is very close to the fuel pump as you say.

          Steve,

If you're going to pull the engine- you'll have to remove the fuel pump for clearance of the A-arms. I usually put the fuel pump on first w/ the re-install....and put the motor mount bolt in from the back- just in case I need to remove it in the future for who knows what. And when pulling the engine I aways replace the inex*****ive fuel pump. The fuel pump is my LEAST favorite thing to replace on the side of the road.
