There must be something I am missing because, in my new to me 1968 the space between the wheel and the seat is so small that I have to really prepare my entry into the car or else be denied from entering. This is not a tele wheel and there does not appear to be any obvious adjustments to raise the height of the wheel or lower the front of the drivers seat. What am I missing? Thanks for your input.

Re: 68 Steering wheel - ouch!!!
I have owned a few 68's and they are very cramped for space. The 68 wheel is a larger diameter. You couldn't order tilt in 68 but tele was an option. My L68 car had tele and my L-89 didn't. What a difference it made entering the car and driving it. I used a different wheel on th L-89 and it helped.- Top

Re: 68 Steering wheel - ouch!!!
They make an excellent reproduction 69 and later steering wheel. It is 1 inch smaller I believe. It was not that uncommon for people to replace the wheel like that in 68. Tele columns are hard to find and cost a lot.
But, what you describe is a common complaint. Part of the fun of owning the car I guess. I have a 68 also.
