Tachometer cable

Hi guys
I have another question. I just ran the speedometer cable to the speedometer through a hole in the firewall and through a hole in the fiberglass behind the gauge housing.Hooked up with no problem. Now i'm trying to run the tachometer cable to the tach.I'm not sure how to route the cable.I'm not getting much info from the assembly manual that I can see. Can someone tell me how it should be run. Does it also go through a hole behind the gauges housing? Also where the cable comes through the firewall from the distributor,is there supposed to be a boot on the cable to seal the hole?

You should have a rubber grommet in the hole in the firewall the cable passes through. You can purchase at Long Island of Corvette Central. It comes in a set with other firewall grommets.

According to the assembly manual,the cable goes through a large egg shaped hole right dehind the distributer.The book shows a rubber boot that covers that hole.The hole is large to allow room for the movement of the tach during timing procedure.I need to know the route of the cable under the dash.Does it go under, over or between the wiper cables? etc. etc. etc.

I haven't committed to memory what year car you have. Routing is largely dependent on that.
