My '72 convertible is a relatively late car, build date of June 13th.
The judging manual states the headlight bezels are to be metal; fiberglass bezels started with the '73 cars. My car had one of each, metal on the right and fiberglass on the left. Both were painted with what appears to be original factory paint and primer. Also, both show the same overspray pattern on the back side. I have stripped the paint from the car and see no signs of damage/repairs to the front of the car, and the left headlight assembly and door again appear to be original and both show the same factory primer. Thus I can not find an apparent reason to have changed the left bezel.
My question, has anybody else with a late '72 have fiberglass bezels which they believe to have been installed at the factory?
Thanks,
Mike
