hi,
When going through the archives of this site, I noticed a lott of people have questions about birdcage rot in C2 and C3 models (not to mention nightmares). In my search for info I came across a site with a lott of pictures on a complete birdcage replacement. So maybe it can help you.
The website is www.tropiczoneracing.com and they did it on a 71 shark. Result is pretty good, although it is not an original car.
I myself dismantled a spare 79 with serious bodydamage and did the test of removing all the fiberglass from the birdcage. It can be done. It is tricky but can be done if you give it enough time and planning.
Although I did not assemble a complete body like they did, maybe I can help with some questions regarding the disassembly.
