Big Brake Backing Plate Screen Covers

In the past year of locating some odd and in parts for my RPO684 58', I finally have both the front and rear brake screen covers which were bought at different times from different people. My rears fit perfectly. The fronts however don't fit very good at all. They (the fronts) arrived in unrestored condition with some minor pitting, dirt, and grease which lead me to believe that they were unrestored originals. I only became suspicious after later recieving the rears and they were very unrestored and pitted but fit perfectly.
QUESTION- Did anyone reproduce these in the years past? I know that recently they started to reproduced these but these fronts definetely could not be from the latest vendor. Does antone have some original fronts and how do they fit?

    Justin--
I have original fronts and they fit perfectly. What do you know about the backing plates? Are they originals, or made up from some standard plates with screens added? Originals are different profile than the standard backing plates. My original covers are the models Jeff Reade used for his reproductions--and I'm glad he didn't redo my originals, or I couldn't tell the difference--his repros are that good!
    Good luck

They are definetely the original backing plates. I just wonder if these covers were an early attempt of a reproduction/counterfeit or if maybe my screens are pertruding a little not allowing the covers to mount flush? This was a very unmolested, unrestored car with all of its original big brake parts except for the shocks, shoes, and rear cylinders.
