61 orginal motor

I was curious if this e bay C1 motor is orginal. Does the C1 series have Vin. stamped on motor pad to determine originality? thanks, Don

without seeing the pad, its impossible to determine if the 61 has its original engine.originally, the vin # was stamped on the pad, as well as the machine assembly data. base engine vettes usually have their original engines but get a knowledgable NCRS judge to examine it before forkin over 40K+. mike

Ask the seller for a high resolution close up

of the stamp pad and then post or email it to Mikie #14. He has seen a lot of phony stamp jobs and can spot one in a New York minute.

Anybody that's been around the hobby more than 6 months knows it takes more than a fancy eBay write-up to convince a knowledgable buyer the car has the "original" block.

If the seller can't produce this for you, assume the engine is incorrect.
