    '62 hardtop side brackets- Mounting?

The hardtop from our '62 is missing the brackets, so I got a pair from Mary Jo. The hardtop is otherwise beautiful and complete (wrong rear weatherstrip notwithstanding), but has three rivet holes along the bottom of the passenger side window stainless. As the picture shows, the brackets I received came in these bags, and the bracket with three holes is marked 'L'. As I have not had a chance to see another '62 with the hardtop actually on, this brings up 3 questions:
1- Are the brackets shown in the picture just labeled incorrectly?
2- How does the bracket WITHOUT the holes work? Do you put the top on first then somehow clamp the 'unholed' bracket on?
    3. Where do I get rivets for attaching these brackets?

Any detail pictures of a hardtop with these brackets mounted would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Rob, take a look at (chenige for user and password) my photots.

It looks to me like they forgot the holes in the one bracket.

My LH bracket is held on with rivets W/O center holes (probably not original?) while my RH side appears to use pop rivets.

I have never touched the hardtop except to put it in the air so I cannot help with anything except pictures!! You may be able to get them from Glassworx. ( See all the comments in the last week!!)

    Chris

I check a 61 and a 62 hardtop, both had three rivets per side.

These brackets are rivited on before the outer stainless is installed. Three smooth round headed rivits are used per side and I believe they were stainless or chrome. You can use pop rivits to install the repo brackets it won't look correct to a purist but will work fine. The bracket without the holes is unfinished, better send it back to Mary Jo, Typical. Just a point, original hardtop side brackets are thicker than the repos if that matters to you. Good Luck Rich # 2276
