While checking the distributor on a '67 small block I recently purchased I noticed that the wire leading from the (-)coil to the radio capacitor was disconnected at the capacitor. I tried to solder it back but was unable to make it stick. I thought I would just order a new one from Long Island Corvette.
When I first noticed this problem I wasn't sure what the capacitor was for. Upon doing a little research I found out it was indeed the radio capacitor. I also read something that indicated it should be connected to the (+) side of the coil. Mine was connected to the (-) side of the coil.
My questions are:
What side should it attach to?
What does the capacitor do in regards to radio performance?
