    Hi Pat

    I used tape on mine.From what I was told. You use tape where there is water and pipe dope sealer on gas pipes and fittings.

      If judging is part of your cars life...

      ...lose any evidence of teflon tape, if used. Good stuff, but not (invented or) used in the early 60's on production Corvette automobiles.

        Put teflon tape on just the first couple of threads that will not show after installation. You'll have no leak and no evidence of having used it.
