I just reupholstered my C2 seats on my 65 with an Al Knoch kit. They look great - better than they should considering I had no clue as to what I was doing. They are vey stiff now and ride much higher than the old soggy seats. Is there something that I can do to "relax" them a bit? I imagine the leather will do that a bit in time and with some use, but I wondered if I could accelerat eh process or if I should just leave them alone....

Re: C2 Al Knoch Seats
Sounds like you went whole hog and installed new foam at the same time. GOOD MOVE! With leather they often come out looking 'baggy' without fresh foam to 'plump' them up. No, I'd do nothing more than use & enjoy...- Top

Re: C2 Al Knoch Seats
I guess it's like an old pair of shoes that are comfortable (but still worn out). The new ones just aren't quite the sme for a while until you get them broken in. They sure look good, but hurt your feet! I'll get over the stiffness. I just need to drive it a lot... Doesn't sound so bad after all!- Top

Re: C2 Al Knoch Seats
On the advice of several fine NCRS members, I popped for the video and I'm telling you, it's the best investment I could have made. It would have been ugly without it. Aside from Al's comments and dialogue, it was very informative. I had to ad-lib a little because they showed seats for a 66 being done, but I figured it out. I'd be happy to tell you what to do and not to do if you are working on a 65. I did my seats and the center cushion.
Basically, it ws a good experience, but it was hard work. Those upholstery guys don't get paid nearly enough, in my opinion. I was slow as tar and still worn out when the whole process was done. Still glad I did it, though. Let me know if I can help with any more info.- Top
