Success at last on the 3810 body, after many weeks and many dips in the tank. This must have been the fifth dip for this baby. I worked out the system on a 3918 scratch body before I did the final dip today.

The secret: Don't plate the body, except the steel vent tubes. Just acid dip (muriatic 1 to 2), brush it up with zincate concentrate, beadblast, brush up with a nylok wheel, then dip.

So next weekend its the assembly.

I sure hope that you're either going to write this up for the Restorer, set up a web page, or both. It sure would be handy for those of us who would like to give this a try.

Gerard, that looks too nice to use as a working carb. Mount that sucker on a pedestal and write up a great Restorer article. Then again, when we read how much time and effort you have put into it, the rest of us mortals, might just send our carbs off to the pros.
