'64-65 L76 w/C60+K66 (How to attach TI volt reg) ?

I know from the ('65) AIM that the finned transistorized volt regulator attaches to the driver side fender skirt, but the three special mounting hex-head screws and rubber shoulder washers (with threaded brass inserts) that are used for the non-T.I. cars do not seem to be designed for the 1116368 regulator, with its raised mounting tabs (identical to the TI amp box) -- the screws are too short to engage the nut. The C60 AIM sheets do not provide the detail necessary to answer this; nor does K66.

What to do ? I'm sure there are at least 2 or 3 owners of this option combo out there with a solution.

They do not use the predrilled regulator holes or the rubber shoulder washers; they are simply driven through the bare firberglass by the line air tools.
