Re: 64-65 "High Hat" FI "S" Tube Screws

Yer gunna love that red 64 car. Totally original and from New Mexico so zero rust or corrosion on anything. Still has quite a bit of chassis black (blackout) on not only the steering gear but also the coupler lower half. Hope someone spends at least a full day looking/recording info on that car before it sells to some perfectionist that wants to spray can everything. Lot to be learned on that one. In about 1977, When Buxbaum owned it, I spent almost half a day recording bolt head markings from every visible bolt in that car.

      Mike,

--------Which red 64 is that? I think I know but cant quite remember. Is it the low-mile one that I thought Shappely had? Do you remember the red 365hp low-mile roadster that sold to the older guy in Chicago? At least he seemed older back then. Was probably younger then than I am now. Cant remember his name either. Stretch would!!!!..........Bill S

        Bill,

Yep, the red 64 FI conv that Richard liked so much. Shappley did eventually wind up with the car. Mileage in the 20's or 30's as I remember.

I remember the red 365 HP car also. Had about 6000 original miles and still had the original spark plugs in it. (orange paint ring on the base of each plug) Didn't that car come out of Jerome's collection? I don't think I ever met the gentleman that bought it from Richard.

Funny when we think of all the old guys that we knew then, and now we're the old guys.
