Re: C1 Vapor Lock
The fuel line from the fuel pump to the carburetors on the early vettes runs VERY close to the head and just behind the right side of the front engine mount. If it is touching one of these components it can easily cause vapor lock. It used to happen to me all the time until I removed the fuel line and wrapped it with some insulation.- Top

Re: C1 Vapor Lock
John, the same routing for the fuel line occurs not only on my 59, but on my 62 also. I have found that if you take a piece of 3/8-inch rubber fuel line and slit it open along its length, it can be used to cover the exposed fuel line next to the head on the passenger's side. I use either plastic electrical ties or some black silicone on the inside to keep the hose around the fuel line. It helps considerably. Good luck.- Top
