Are the "ELH", zinc or cad plated bolts with indented hex head and captured washer still considered correct...I recently saw a claim that originals were black phosphate with the anchor headmark.

Re: '66 REAR VALANCE ATTACHING BOLTS
Rob,
I'm not 100% sure on the logo but I believe ELH was probably the most common. I don't agree with the cad or zinc plating tho. I remember black phos (grey actually) Like to hear from other original 63-67 car owners on this.

Oop's, Sorry John, I'm probably....
wrong on the plating. Just going from memory on this one. Wonder if there's enough plating on the ones in my 66 to get a sample?- Top

Re: '66 REAR VALANCE ATTACHING BOLTS
Michael,
My 67 has the original ELH bolts and they are dark looking like phosphate BUT it's just because they are old. When taken off they are zinc on the backside and on the threads.

Re: '66 REAR VALANCE ATTACHING BOLTS
Thanks JR. That's probably why I remember the dark color. Cad or zinc does tend to darken and look grey after a few years.- Top

Re: '66 REAR VALANCE ATTACHING BOLTS
Pete,
I believe you told me you knew a source to get the original, thinner nuts for the bolts used for the bumpers and other areas, that fit a 5/8" wrench as do the bolt heads. I'd like to get some of them if you do. Thanks...- Top
