    Did all '72 LS5 engines have smog pump systems??

      As spelled out in the NCRS 1970-1972 TIM & JG all 1972 454's had AIR

              Addendum

              Well, I thought that i was going to be satisfied with one of my rare, short responses, but something else occurred to me. As it was all 1968-74 big blocks were equipped with A.I.R. EXCEPT 1970-71 LS-5. Those were the only exceptions to the A.I.R. "rule".
