68 Frame change

During the 68 production run the 68 frame had braces added at a 45 degree angle at the rear frame kickup. I was wondering, at about what date or VIN this change was added? I have a early couple without the braces and a late conv. that has braces. Phil#30079

Phil I know it was after February 1968 because my original owner 68 does not have the added braces.

Jim My conv. 427/435 car was built May 15 and it has the braces. Phil 30079

We have thought that it was done sometime in late March or early April. If enough would respond we could add this tidbit of info into the TIM & JG

My car was built May 14 I believe and it has the braces you are talking about. Original frame from Arizona. Thanks, Terry

My early June coupe frame had the braces.

The donor convertible frame I purchased was number 3000 off the line and didn't have the braces. But it do now

You know Daver, I went though all the !^%$*&$$#! trouble of cleanly cutting off my old braces to put on the new donor frame, and when I set those ole rusted pieces on that California beauty, I just couldn't bring myself to stitch in place! So I bit the bullet and pick up a new set from C.C.C. and I'm glad I did!

What's another $85.00 at this point right?

So Dave if you need a pair of ahhh .......shall I say "experiened" original braces, I'll let you have them for a song
