Mike: Hemmings Motor News May 2005 on page 182. The companies name is Hibernia Auto Restorations,Inc. Located in Hibernia, New Jersey. I have seen their ad in Hemmings for years. I have not bought from them. Yes, they sell Nitro-Cellulose and Acrylic lacquer. Phone 973-627-1882 Good Luck and let us know of your experience with them.

      Hey Dick -

Thanks for the information. I'll give Hibernia a call and let you know how the project turns out.

When you source the n-c lacquer paint don't forget you'll need about 4:1 of compatible thinner to go with it!

Be careful. Had a very bad experience with Hibernia trying to gaet a good color match for Nassau Blue in Acyrilic Laq. Make sure expectations are clearly understood. They would not go beyond the formula match for me, and it wasn't close. Finally worked with the local PPG paint supplier in local (small) town to get a good match.

Check for a PPG supplier in your area. They still make it and are able to make colors. Only possible problem with color match might be with Reds and Blues since they contained lead in the '60's and probably do not today. They should be able to shade in a proper color match. Working with a local supplier should be easier than dealing with someone over the phone or e-mail. I used PPG on my car this past winter with great results.

Try this one . They've been doing classic/ resto products for years. I know they have that type of lacquer.
