    3 lines on my balancer?

The engine in my '59 is a 350 with a mild roller cam. The balancer has 3 lines cut across it. The first line is TDC and stamped "0". About 2" further around is a second line stamped "E", then about another inch away is a third line stamped "4". Any guesses as to what the "E" and the "4" stand for? Thanks again. Pat G.

if the 2" line is on the advance side of the damper i would guess it is for power timing the engine

Just guessing, but it may be far enough that the second line "E" is really a "3" for 30 degrees and the third being "4" is for 40 degrees.

This lets someone use the stock timing tab and regular timing light see the timing in the 28-50 degree range, depending on the tab, so they can check full advance.
