C1 - Parking Brake Light / Switch Problem

I have a C1, 1960 Fuelie with the parking brake illumination option. When I bought the car, the light stayed illuminated regardless of whether the brake was on or off. I took the car to a "classic Corvette dealer" and no the light is off when the brake is off but it is steady (not flashing) when the brake is engaged.

Any ideas as to where to look on that?

Install a new 257 bulb. NAPA has them. Jimmy

It is not a bulb that makes it flash, it is a tungsten flasher. They are about 2" long.

The flasher is attached to the left kick panel with a metal bracket. A brown wire is hooked into this flasher leading to the hand brake switch and another brown wire is hooked to the light bulb.

This kind of flasher is now and then for sale via e-Bay (see link).

        greetings,
        Rob.

They are not repro-ed yet (for as far as I know). So you need to ask a vendor specialized in original parts. E.g. Dr Rebuild or Mary Jo. I've been able to buy one from CorvetteStop. As stated before, not cheap!!!

              greetings,
              Rob.
